After graduating with an Economics degree, Mark enjoyed a successful IT sales career working with many of the world’s leading database companies. Mark’s pedigree goes back to the heady days of database selling with the likes of Ingres and Informix. After working at Informix, Mark went on to join Forte Software, the 3 tier application development tools company. Forte was eventually acquired by Sun and Mark spent time with the organisation before moving to join Salmon Associates.
Mark was part of the early numero team and has worked with Guy pioneering the early sales of SmartAgent.
Mark’s strengths lie in his ability to work with major Corporates on their IT/business strategies and being able to help formulate complex application led solutions. Mark has a good understanding of most aspects of IT including:
- Databases
- Application development
- Data warehousing
- e commerce
- Contact centre applications
- QA/testing
Mark has worked in a variety of vertical markets including financial services, retail, travel and transport, utilities, telco and local government. Mark manages Capita and Dixons Retail Group/PC World as well as working on new business opportunities.
Mark lives in Harrogate with his wife Karen, daughter and son. His passions include golf, rugby, skiing and fine wines.
