numero’s highlights from #CES2015

The Consumer Electronics Show has ended for another year and it has been reported as the biggest and best yet. No less than 170,000 industry professionals attended the show, with 45,000 of those coming from outside the States, to see 3,600 exhibitors.

In contrast to 2014 where it was all about wearables, and ultra hi-def TVs in 2013, this year saw everything from Drones and 3D printing to an autonomous car, self-adjusting belts and connected socks.

For numero, the main attraction seemed to be the emphasis on the Internet of Things within the connected home and what brands have in store for the consumer experience in 2015.

The concept of the connected home is ramping up, and it seems even regular appliances are receiving innovative makeovers. As the evolution of the smart home continues, we’ve seen Apple’s HomeKit, Google Nest and Samsung’s SmartThings battle it out for the top spot. With dual-door ovens, clever washers and smart fridges, make no mistake that in the not so distant future, everything in your home may be controlled by some sort of chip or sensor.
