As four exhilarating days of golf drew to a close, numero sponsored pro-golfer Jamie Donaldson left the Portugal Masters with a sixth place finish and €65,000 in prize money after putting in a solid performance throughout the tournament.
Donaldson delighted Sky television viewers and on-course galleries with his golfing prowess on the Oceânico Victoria course, as witnessed first-hand by numero’s Guy Colclough who followed the action live in the Portuguese Algarve. After an incredible first round which saw Donaldson at the top of the leaderboard, the Welshman continued to challenge and entered the final day in a tie for second place.
Starting the fourth round at fourteen under par, Donaldson challenged for pole position throughout the day but after a string of nine birdies, Seve Trophy teammate David Lynn stole past Donaldson to take home the title. Despite this narrow defeat, the numero-sponsored golfer will undoubtedly walk away from the tournament with his head held high.
numero would like to congratulate Jamie for a captivating performance in the Portugal Masters and we wish him all the best in preparing for his next challenge. In fact, Donaldson’s fighting form sees him climb another place in the Race to Dubai rankings, holding his own amongst a pack of the European Tour’s biggest names at nineteenth. Donaldson will have little time to sit back and celebrate though, as his next major international competition, the BMW Masters, kicks off in China in just ten days’ time with a prize fund of $7 million.
