Today, numero would like to take a moment to congratulate Simon Khan, the European Tour Professional golfer, on his solid performance during this weekend’s Commercialbank Qatar Masters. Simon, who is sponsored by numero, placed 25th in the overall rankings for the tournament, coming four under par over three rounds. The result, which came amongst tough conditions, means that the 2010 PGA Champion collects €17,160 in prize money.
The Commercialbank Qatar Masters, which first began in 1988, is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the region and is held at the Doha Gold Club in Doha, Qatar. The course itself holds a par of 72 and, here at numero, we were particularly impressed by Simon’s high standard of ball striking over the course.
Regular readers of the numero blog will remember that Simon had a very busy start to 2012, beginning the year with the UBS Hong Kong Open and the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship. But the hectic schedule for 2012 isn’t quite finished as Simon now prepares for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, which takes place this week. Here at numero, we’d like to wish Simon all the best for the upcoming competition and we’ve got our fingers crossed that this form continues into the next tournament. The field at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic features a number of strong players, including Lee Westwood, John Daly and Rory Mcllroy, and we’ll be hoping Simon takes the momentum from his strong finish in Qatar onto Dubai.
Looking further ahead, Simon is also on the board for the Open de Andalucia de Golf in Spain and the Trophée Hassan II in Morocco. Naturally, numero will keep you informed of his progress in all of these tournaments, although for the news as it happens, you can follow Simon and numero on Twitter on Twitter to find out more.
