Simon Khan, the numero sponsored European Tour golfer, got off to one of his best starts of the season at Vilamoura today. 7 birdies and an eagle were the cornerstones of a superb round of 65, securing second place at the end of the first day’s play. There were clear signs of Simon’s form a couple of days earlier when he joined the numero party, including CEO Guy Colclough, for a round at San Lorenzo. We were delighted to see this translate to his tournament play. During the informal game with numero, Simon displayed his phenomenal ball striking and outstanding interpersonal skills to treat our guests to an unforgettable day. He even found time to give some personal tuition to Guy, although he will find it hard to put to practise in light of many exciting developments at numero. Major multi-channel customer service projects for Cable & Wireless, Yodel and Kitbag – along with exciting social media developments on the numero interactive platform – are keeping the numero team busier than ever.
Despite the record performance from the numero business throughout 2011 and a strong outlook, we will still find time to play host to further Essence of the European Tour days in conjunction with Simon and his management team. Clearly our round and the subsequent private dinner we enjoyed in the company of Simon had a really positive affect on his golf as well as our guests.
