John Irvine, who has looked after our Professional Services team for the past four years, has sadly been tempted away from numero. John has been offered a very senior International role as Vice President at a major global financial services firm in the City. Clearly, this role is a massive opportunity for John and a huge step forward for his career. Reluctantly, John has accepted this new career challenge.
It is clearly a major testament to the quality of the team at numero that John has been approached for such a senior role and naturally, whilst this news is disappointing for us, a position of this stature cannot be ignored or passed by. John will continue to help us wherever he can.
Over the last four years, John has become an important and integral member of the Executive team managing the stresses and strains of the Professional Service team and project deliveries for numero. Fortunately, John and his team have established the operational structure, working practices and team working required to ensure continued success.
Mark Chamberlain, who is a co-founder of numero and was our Business Development Director, has taken over John’s role and responsibilities with immediate effect. Although Mark does not have the same program management focus as John, Mark’s solution and visionary strengths will continue to help the team develop in new ways. This is very important at a time when numero is delivering a host of new projects and solutions to market.
John, Mark, Lawrence and myself have been through an extensive planning exercise around this change and we intend to maintain the existing structure. That said, Mark’s title has changed to Operations Director.
Whilst it is a blow to lose such a good friend and Executive, I have a great deal of confidence and excitement for numero and our future. In fact, we are in a very exciting place at the moment. So, despite the global recession, we are thriving. In fact, today I have more confidence in our future than at any time in the last 3-4 years. Demand has grown for our services and we are at full capacity. We have successfully delivered our first SaaS solutions and the launch of this new market offering has created exceptionally strong demand for these new solutions.
All that remains is to say a very big thank you to John and to wish John, Fi and the family well for the future.
