The 2009 New York Marathon
Our heartiest congratulations go out to my great friend Adam Prentis. Or to those who followed the race live on TV – Bib 34669.
Perhaps, not usually recognised for his sporting prowess, this weekend Adam has competed in the 2009 New York marathon in the most incredible time. 3hours 46 mins ! Wow and wow!
I can not imagine just how daunting a challenge this run has been for Adam. By Adam’s own admissions, he is not a natural runner and the training has certainly tested both his resolve and his body to the limit.
Speaking just before the race (well for the whole night actually) I knew Adam was rightly apprehensive. He could not sleep and I know he was very nervous at the start.
But like all great men, Adam has succeeded and this achievements ranks up there as one of this year’s finest moments for me. I am very proud to be his friend.
Adam has achived much through this race both from own perosnal perspective and for his chosen charity.
Adam has raised well over £5,000 for Marie Curie cancer care and so well done, Adam. Just a stunning achievement. I look forward to buying the beers in St Anton.
We are all very proud of you.
